SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

WARNER architecture studio is searching for a Architect or Project Manager with healthcare facility design background or Senior living facility design background to join our growing Beijing office. This Healthcare designer should have experience in different healthcare projects and enjoy healthcare design work. The healthcare designer candidates will implement Company’s Guiding Principles (Vision and Mission) in the planning and documentation for multiple projects and teams. It is vital that the candidate has a knowledge of guidelines for programming, medical planning, design and construction of healthcare facilities and Senior Living facilities. The ideal candidate will be able to work both within a highly collaborative team setting and be able to work independently to meet client objectives.
Responsibilities will primarily include
- Lead the design effort and/or assist the Project Designer for assigned projects;
- For Healthcare projects, work together with the medical planners and doctors to optimize the planning and design the public and medical spaces.
- Provide design leadership for the project team, including the ability to direct and evaluate design options based on client-driven criteria;
- Broadly participates in the progress of all project drawings, renderings, finishes, furniture, and budgets;
- Coordinates with the Project Manager in the preparation of contract documents and administration;
- Participate in the development of project work-plans, balancing the project’s design and documentation requirements with the project budget;
- Coordinates preparation and assists in client presentations;
- Coordinates with consultants to yield an integrated final design development package;
- Act as a mentor for junior design staff, assisting in their professional development and providing career guidance;
- Develop professional and community involvement in targeted organizations to build a network for business development and professional growth;
- Interpret and evaluate client requirements;
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related discipline required;
- Interior Design (NCIDQ), registration/license and LEED AP preferred (or personal development plan to obtain);
- 5-7 years of related experience;
- Working knowledge of techniques, products, and materials used in commercial and healthcare environments;
- Familiarity with furniture types, materials, manufacturers, representatives and vendors;
- Knowledge of the design process and construction documents;
- Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness;
- Strong graphic abilities with experience using some or all of the following: Sketchup, Revit, Autocad, InDesign, Adobe Suite, Rhinoceros, 3D Studio Max;
- Strong client contact experience and exceptional communication, organizational and marketing presentation skills;
